First revealed at the 2017 Tokyo Auto Show, the Mazda Vision Coupe is now well-known to auto industry insiders and Mazda lovers worldwide. What makes the Mazda Vision Coupe special is the fact that it’s not just a concept car—it’s the template for the Mazda brand’s next generation of models, slated to debut in 2019.
This next generation, infused with the Mazda Motor Corporation’s KODO: Soul of Motion design philosophy, represents a new era of elegance, quality, and performance.
The awards garnered by the Mazda Vision Coupe came at two of the industry’s capstone events. First up was last month’s Paris Auto Show, where the Vision Coupe was recognized as the “Most Beautiful Concept Car of the Year”. On the heels of this recognition, our Mazda dealers serving DuPont, WA were thrilled to see the Mazda Vision Coupe earn its second award, “Concept Car of the Year”, at the 11th Annual Car Design Night in Geneva.
This exclusive event coincides with the Geneva Motor Show and welcomes leading car designers from across the world. The event is hosted by Car Design News and the majority of judges voting for the award are Design Directors at global carmakers.
Ikuo Maeda, Mazda Managing Executive Officer in charge of Design and Brand Style, said that Mazda is “Delighted once again to have Vision Coupe recognized with a global design award…it’s truly an honor to have this model, which aims to express the essence of Japanese aesthetics, applauded by some of the world’s top car designers.”
